| ChurchesHabitat for Humanity Trenton greatly needs the help of our community churches. We offer churches and their congregants a unique opportunity to experience their faith in new and exciting ways. Many churches begin their partnership with Habitat out of a desire to help other people. They are delighted to discover how they benefit from working with our organization as well. Here are just a few examples:• Put your faith and love into action• Build alongside God’s people in need• Gain a greater understanding of people of the same faith, different faiths or no religious affiliation• Build community and fellowship in your church• Experience spiritual growth and blessing through service to others• Demonstrate your congregation’s commitment to social justiceChurch partnerships can involve a number of activities. Churches may:• Provide prayer support• Volunteer for construction crews or committees• Prepare and serve meals for construction volunteers• Make a financial contributionChurches may also get involved through Sponsorship or Co-Sponsorship. This is when a congregation, either independently, or working together with other congregations, raises money and provides the labor to build an entire home. Alternatively, a church may provide funding or labor for just a portion of the construction. For example, a church might provide all the funding for a roof, or purchase all the supplies and paint the interior of the house. The possibilities are endless, all it takes is your imagination.Church Partnering is really “Faith Building,” in that it provides a vehicle for a congregation to live out its faith through building a home for people in need.
